   WELCOME CLAY GREEN- ADMINISTRATOR

Gramercy Court would like to take this opportunity to introduce Clayton Green who joined us last week as the new Administrator. Clay comes with quite a host of experience. He has been a licensed Administrator for over 32 years. This all began with ownership of two facilities in the state of Oregon in his early career. He has within his administrative experience more than 15 years at local Sacramento and surrounding area nursing homes. On his “down” time, when he isn’t worrying about administrative duties, he enjoys challenges and perhaps, some “risky business.” He races sprint cars at the local raceway. Another “hobby” is to race planes. This means he climbs into a Mustang P-51 at air races. And when he isn’t providing leadership at nursing homes, racing cars and planes, he will fit in an occasional Alaskan fishing expedition. He has also confessed to playing the piano. “I am happy to be a member of the Gramercy Court Team and I look forward to working closely with staff to better service the needs of our residents and the community.” Clay will find time for families and residents. He maintains an open-door policy for all. “If you have any concerns or questions, do not hesitate to contact me.”

JUST WHAT DOES THE ADMINISTRATOR DO? First of all, to be an Administrator, there needs to be education qualifications. In the case of Gramercy Court, we ask for a minimum of a Baccalaureate Degree. Then if the decision is to go into this field, the applicant must work under a licensed administrator who also holds a Preceptor License. This entails working all departments of a nursing home culminating in 1000 hours of direct experience. Once the hours are completed, the applicant is now ready to take the State and Federal examinations. The tests are comprehensive on all State and Federal Regulations that govern the nursing home. The Nursing Home Administrator is responsible for the entire operations of the nursing home; Nursing Care, Food Services, Rehabilitation, Social Services, Leisure Time Services, Environmental Services, Plant and Property and all other ancillary support services. Any and all issues are resolved with the leadership that is provided. This is also a 24/7 position for the Administrator and, of course, the Adm. is supported by the Dept. Managers. This position comes with a huge responsibility and complete dedication to be successful. When the recruitment process began to fill this position, more than 18 applicants responded. Out of this group 7 was chosen for an interview. There were 3 finalists that were panel-interviewed and all on the panel agreed that Clay would “fit the bill.”
