HAPPY NEW YEAR!

-And what’s so special about this greeting? The mere fact that I am here to wish you all this greeting and that you are here to receive it. And that’s special. –No resolutions, just a cheerful salutation. The year was ended with the usual annual Christmas Musical. This year, Cabaret was presented amid much laughter. That was what the show was all about; Guffawing, side-splitting laughter. –Forget your troubles, come to the Cabaret! It was truly a night to remember and for some, to forget!
Last year also ended with a change in Administration. Janey Hargreaves retired to her home in Jackson. We wish her well and a fond farewell.
I would like to introduce a new Captain at the helm of the ship. Tom Kraus is joining Gramercy Court. He will arrive on Jan. 11th. I will have more on our new Administrator when he arrives. In the meantime, Sandra Fong, Director of Operations will be available to insure all runs smoothly. And, as usual, the Department Managers are here to serve you!
Gramercy Court Dept. Managers: Shawna Ryan, Nursing; Susan Belda,
Staff Dev.; John Walling, Social Services; Jeff Clay, Plant & Property;
Henry Brumley, Food Services; Henry Ching, Rehabilitation; Jenni Wright, Medical Records; Dina Greene; Human Resources; Debbie Graham, Business Office, Carolyn Strebel & Paul Graham, Activities; Jami Howell, Assisted Living and Elise Long, Environmental Services.
Several of our Dept. Managers are celebrating many years of services with Gramercy Court. Elise Long and John Walling celebrated 18 years. Carolyn Strebel celebrated 17 years. The others are within the 5 to 10 year range with Jami Howell, at 5 months as the newest member.
COLOR ME PURPLE – Visitor Jackie compared the color purple with Blanche, a resident who had the same love for purple. Jackie has been a purple lover for 20 years, but our resident replied that her love of this color has been for 45 years. Both agreed that they had a love for a purple car, although Jackie fulfilled her wish and actually has one. – Pictures were shared of this fabulous purple car.

Over 120 fleece lap blankets were gifted to our residents. A group of visitors representing HomEq Servicing visited and presented the residents personally with the colorful blankets. They also brought cuddly stuffed animals that were distributed to the residents in Assisted Living Residence.
Thanks to all vendors and associates who contributed
to the holiday celebration for staff and residents.
MAY YOUR 2010 BE HAPPY, HEALTHY & PROSPEROUS!
